Satisfactory quality (consumer contracts)
Satisfactory quality is a statutory standard that goods supplied to a consumer under a contract must meet. Under section 9 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, every contract to supply goods is to be treated as including a term that the quality of the goods is satisfactory. Quality is satisfactory if it meets the standard that a reasonable person would consider satisfactory, taking account of the description, the price and all other relevant circumstances. Where goods fail this standard, the consumer may be entitled to remedies set out in the Act.
