In one sentence
With us, an attachment is the role a document plays in a pleading, with number, version and status, and never a second copy of the file.
Why this makes a difference
If you store attachments as copies, you maintain every change twice: the document is replaced, the attachment stays outdated. That is why the document exists only once in the DMS. “K1”, “K2” or “B1” describe the role it has in a specific pleading. Renaming or reordering creates no copy, and a new version is kept as a version. If a document is in the trash, the index shows it as a gap. The tool only suggests assignments; you confirm each one, and everything can be undone.
From state to package
With “Record state” the portal freezes the attachment list of a pleading: number, document and version per attachment. This package state becomes a ZIP with a cover sheet and packing list and the files in the version of that state. The filing check names guide values, for example on file count, volume and file names, and blocks nothing. It does not replace checking the requirements of your court. The portal sends nothing; you file through your usual channel.
For the AI
The attachment index is available to the AI functions as context. The AI describes photos only when you click, with processing in the EU. The description is marked as not reviewed, and whatever you have excluded from the AI stays excluded.
