Finding a lawyer
When it is worth hiring a lawyer, how you can find a suitable law firm yourself, and how to pass on your documents.
Smart Legal Pro is strong in initial assessment – but some cases belong in expert hands. We do not maintain a lawyer directory and do not currently refer lawyers; a referral service is in the planning stages. Under How to find a lawyer, you will find the official lawyer search tools for each country and the process for passing on your documents.
When it is worth hiring a lawyer
- High risk, large amounts, short deadlines.
- You are asked to sign something far-reaching (e.g., cease-and-desist declaration, acknowledgment of debt).
- The AI explicitly advises you to do so.
More on the decision "AI or lawyer?" can be found in When to Choose a Lawyer Over AI?.
How to find a law firm yourself
- Open How to find a lawyer.
- Use the official lawyer search for your country (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Poland). These directories are maintained by the chambers and professional associations themselves; we do not receive any compensation for this and do not recommend any specific law firm.
- Check the law firm's area of expertise, language, and region, and submit an inquiry there.
Passing on your documents
You can pass on what you have worked on with us to the law firm of your choice yourself – without a mandate relationship with Smart Legal Pro:
- In your matter, you will find the "Export (ZIP)" button: documents, analyses, and letters in one archive.
- For individual documents, letters, and contracts, the "Export documents for a lawyer" dialog offers the analysis report as a PDF, the individual file, and the ZIP.
Please treat the export confidentially – it may contain personal data. Your clearly compiled facts of the case make it easy for the law firm to get started.
