Finished emails, letters & citations as cards

If the AI provides a finished result – email, letter, citation, table, or code – it appears as a separate card with appropriate actions instead of as continuous text.

Updated 4 October 2026

If the response in the Chat contains a complete, standalone result – a finished email, a letter, a verifiable statute/judgment, a table, or a code snippet – Smart Legal Pro does not display it as normal continuous text, but as a separate card with corresponding buttons.

Available cards

  • Email: Subject + text. Buttons to copy, open directly in your email program (mailto), open in Gmail or Outlook in the browser, or download as an .eml file.
  • Letter/Document: Buttons for DOCX and PDF download as well as "Take over as letter" – the content is saved unchanged under letter, where you can continue editing it like any other letter.
  • Citation: a statute or judgment to copy, plus the "Verify citation" button – you trigger the verification here deliberately with a click (unlike the automatic mark at The "Source verified" label). The verification checks our own legal database first: If the statute or decision is available there, you will see it immediately (without waiting time, without credits) and can open the official full text with one click. A missing hit never means "does not exist" – only that the source is not in our database; if a citation does not quite fit, similar ones are suggested.
  • Table, code, raw text: for copying or downloading.

Every card also offers "Show raw text" in case you would like to see the unformatted content.

Why this is the case

A finished email should look and behave like an email – not like a paragraph that you have to trim yourself first. The card immediately turns an AI result into something usable without you having to recreate formatting by hand.

"Give me that as a DOCX"

Even with a standard response without a dedicated card, a single sentence is enough: Ask in the chat for "that as a DOCX", "as a PDF", or – in the case of a table – "as a CSV". A download button with exactly that format will then appear directly below the response, without you having to search for it anywhere. Without an explicit format request, the button will not appear.
