Limits of AI & No Legal Advice

What Smart Legal Pro deliberately does not provide – so that you can rely on it correctly.

Updated 4 October 2026

To ensure that you can rely on Smart Legal Pro correctly, here are the honest limits.

Smart Legal Pro does not constitute legal advice within the meaning of the RDG (Rechtsdienstleistungsgesetz - Legal Services Act) / BRAO (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung - Federal Lawyers' Act). You receive an initial assessment and assistance with preparation – legally binding advice in individual cases is provided by a lawyer. Details: Notes on the RDG.

AI Can Make Mistakes

  • AI can overlook things or classify them incorrectly (hallucinations, outdated training data).
  • Always check critical deadlines and important statements against the original.
  • Do not rely solely on the AI for large amounts or far-reaching declarations.

More on this in How reliable is the AI.

What the Platform CANNOT Do

  • No representation in court.
  • No guaranteed prospects of success.
  • No binding legal evaluation in individual cases.

The Right Approach

Use the AI to understand faster and to be prepared – and involve a law firm if necessary (finding a lawyer, when a lawyer is better). How the AI works is explained in How the AI works.
