Gathering the facts of the case & follow-up questions

A good assessment requires a clear set of facts of the case. That is why Smart Legal Pro collects the facts of your case and asks targeted questions if something is missing or contradictory.

How it works

• You describe your matter (via text, document, or voice).
• The AI summarizes what it has understood and lists open points.
• In the event of contradictions, it asks for clarification instead of making assumptions.
• You can answer "I don't know" at any time – the AI will then work with what is certain.

Why this is important

• The assessment becomes more reliable because it is based on clarified facts.
• You can see transparently how the facts of the case were gathered ("How these facts were gathered").
• If you later hand over to a law firm (Finding a lawyer), everything is neatly documented – this saves time and money.

How to get the best results

• Answer follow-up questions as specifically as possible.
• Provide numbers, dates, and parties involved when the AI asks for them.

Progress, skipping, and continuing

• At the top of the follow-up dialog, you can see how many follow-up questions you have already answered.
• Below a question, "Why is this being asked?" explains what the answer is needed for.
• You can skip individual questions – even mandatory ones. Skipped questions are not included in the assignment; you can retrieve a question using "Answer after all".
• Follow-up questions already asked are not lost: If you close the dialog or reload the page, Smart Legal Pro will offer to "Continue" the next time you open it – this is free of charge. For follow-up questions before a document analysis and in guided mode for legal questions, this applies for up to 14 days after your last answer; these saved drafts are automatically deleted after 30 days without changes. During revision in the dialog (How do I adapt and revise a contract?), your answers remain saved for the respective revision until you execute them.
• For a legal question, the AI may ask a few more targeted questions after your answers – free of charge, and you can also start directly. If your question is already precise enough, the dialog will indicate this, and you can start the analysis yourself by clicking the button.

You can view the gathered facts in your matter. From here, you can proceed to the legal question or to the Chatting with a document.
