Before you get started, the AI checks your matter. This prevents you from entering into an unsuitable proceeding.

Getting started

Describe your matter in your own words (preferably with amounts and dates). You can upload existing documents to My documents beforehand and analyze them – this sharpens the assessment.

The traffic light system

The AI provides you with a result in three stages:

  • Suitable – the matter is appropriate for self-representation (e.g., Amtsgericht (local court), no mandatory representation by a lawyer).
  • With caution – possible, but with risks (tight deadline, difficult evidentiary situation).
  • Lawyer recommended/required – e.g., mandatory representation by a lawyer (Anwaltszwang) or high complexity. In this case, we will guide you to Finding a lawyer.

You will also see the court likely to have jurisdiction, a rough estimate of the value in dispute (Streitwert), and a clear indication regarding the cost risk.

Creating a proceeding

If the status is "suitable" or "with caution", you confirm that you are representing yourself and bearing the responsibility – you then create the proceeding and access the cockpit. From there, you can draft your first pleading.
