What this is about
Smart Legal Pro has so far worked with direct assignment: the client chooses a firm, and the matter lands in that firm's inbox. That works — but it wastes the potential of pre-qualified enquiries for firms that want to grow in a particular area of law.
With this release we are introducing an open lawyer marketplace alongside the direct route — comparable to classic referral portals, but with automatic case and file handover instead of manual back-and-forth.
How it works
- The client submits an enquiry — either to a specific firm or to the pool. Including documents, a preliminary AI analysis and a lead-quality score.
- Verified lawyers see a teaser in the marketplace (area of law, region, score) — no personal data, no content.
- Unlock with tokens (1 token = 1 lead). Atomic: token deduction, assignment and audit in a single transaction.
- The file workbench opens: the facts, an AI analysis with red flags and next steps, documents (signed URLs), a generated letter, and staged release of the client's contact details after acceptance.
- File export as a JSON bundle — ready for handover to your DMS or practice-management software.
Professional-conduct guardrails
- Client contact is only released once the case has been accepted — so that the conflict-of-interest check required by professional conduct rules genuinely takes place before the first contact.
- Every reveal and export step is recorded in the audit log.
- The referral does not replace an engagement agreement — that only comes into being through an explicit instruction to act.
