Statutory protection against socially unjustified dismissal in businesses with more than 10 employees.
The German Protection Against Dismissal Act (KSchG) applies after 6 months of employment in businesses with more than 10 employees. A dismissal is only effective on person-related, conduct-related or operational grounds. The 3-week deadline for filing a claim (§ 4 KSchG) is strict — after that the dismissal is automatically deemed effective.
