Organizing matters

Bundle every topic as a separate matter for a better overview and more accurate answers; close completed matters and reopen them if necessary.

To ensure nothing gets mixed up, organize every topic as a separate matter under My matters.

Why one matter per topic?

  • Overview: All documents, deadlines, and questions regarding a case are kept together.
  • Better answers: The AI recognizes relationships between related documents.
  • No re-uploading: What has been analyzed for a matter is retained – the AI works with an overview and reads specifically as needed (How the AI reads your documents: upload once, read as needed).
  • Easier handover: In the event of a request, the case is already bundled.

How to proceed

  1. Create a matter for a new topic (e.g., "Rental deposit" or "Job termination"). Not sure which topic fits? Simply describe what happened in your own words when creating it and select "Create matter and discuss" – we will create the matter and open the chat for it, with your text already waiting there. Creating a matter is free of charge; you can see the cost of a chat response there before sending.
  2. Upload the associated documents (Uploading documents correctly).
  3. Ask your questions in the context of this matter (Ask a legal question, Chatting with a document).
  4. Keep an eye on deadlines and status (Keeping track of deadlines, Notifications & Alerts). If a detected deadline is missing a date, the list will show "Deadline without date" – enter it, as the deadline can only be calculated once this is done.
  5. Extract key data as facts if necessary.
  6. For extensive matters, request a strategy recommendation.

Many matters: Pages instead of "Load more"

If you have many matters, you can browse through them page by page under My matters: Below the list, you will find Back/Next, the page numbers, and the option to choose how many matters appear per page. The page number is retained in the address bar — so your browser's back button will take you back to the same page. If you change your search or filter, the list will start again at page 1. You can also browse other long lists — such as your contracts, your requests, and the bookings under credits — in this way.

Closing and reopening matters

Once a topic is resolved, select "Close matter" on the matter page. After a brief confirmation, it will appear under the "Closed" filter. Documents, letters, and deadlines remain preserved; deadline reminders continue until you turn them off or mark the deadline as completed (Keeping track of deadlines). You can bring the matter back at any time by selecting "Reopen".

Tip

Do not mix several unrelated topics in one matter – separate matters provide clearer assessments.

If you want to have everything evaluated at once

For a matter with many documents, there is the comprehensive review: a coherent evaluation across all documents instead of many individual analyses.

The path to this is deliberately simple: upload everything completely once, then have it evaluated. The report is a snapshot — if you submit something later, it will be marked as outdated instead of being silently recalculated.
