EU Case Law: Looking up ECJ and General Court Judgments
Read decisions of the European Court of Justice in multiple languages — with an honest indication of what is already available in the library.
The Legal Library: Looking up statutes & judgments contains not only German laws and judgments but also decisions of the European courts — the Court of Justice of the European Union (EuGH) and the General Court (EuG). Each decision is uniquely identified by its ECLI (the European Case Law Identifier, e.g., ECLI:EU:C:2026:498).
Read in Your Language
EU judgments are published in several official languages of the Union. On the judgment page, you can use the language switcher to select the version you wish to read. If a language is not available, we will display another version and inform you openly — it is never replaced silently. The full text is only loaded for each language when it is opened.
Legal Area & Keywords
Each decision carries — as far as officially assigned — its Rechtsgebiet (legal area) from the official classification system of the Court of Justice as well as Sachgebiete (subject areas/keywords). This allows you to see at a glance what the case is about.
Honest About Coverage
We include the latest decisions first and gradually expand our database. If a judgment refers to an older decision that is not yet in the library, you will see the reference but no link yet — "not in our database" never means "does not exist". Furthermore, very recent judgments sometimes do not yet contain references because the official source only adds them retroactively over the course of the year.
