Fact graph: what is behind it and what it costs
The fact graph connects the details recognized in your documents. It is only created when you start an evaluation — with the price shown up front.
When the app refers to the fact graph, it means everything the AI has read from the documents of a matter — people, amounts, dates, deadlines — including how they connect and a reference to the source. You see it in two forms: as recognized details and as connections between your details.
When it is created — and what it costs
The fact graph does not grow unnoticed in the background. It is created when you start an evaluation yourself, for example:
- the overall review of a matter — it builds details, connections, timeline and report in a single run;
- “Extract facts” for an individual document (Detected facts (persons, dates, amounts, deadlines)).
You see the price up front in each case (Where do I see what something costs before I start?); only after your confirmation is anything charged. Viewing, searching, filtering and exporting existing details is free.
Your overall review stays as it is
Law firms that work with Smart Legal Pro can decide in their firm portal, for each case file, whether its fact graph is updated with every new document, only on demand, or not at all. This only concerns case files in the firm portal; it is described in the firm handbook under “Fact graph: what it costs and how you control it”.
Your overall review does not change because of it: you commission it yourself as before, see the price up front and receive a snapshot of your documents. If you submit a document later, the report is marked as outdated — a new evaluation only starts if you trigger it.
Good to know
- Every detail leads to the place in the original. Check anything critical there (How reliable is the AI?).
- If a document mentions a sum without a figure, no amount of 0 is stored (Detected facts (persons, dates, amounts, deadlines)).
