The Co-Pilot in the Anwaltsportal has grown further — and you now have a visible dial: for each task type, you decide how independently an agent may act.
The autonomy dial
Until now the Co-Pilot suggested and you approved. That remains the default — what's new is that you can fine-tune it for each task type: suggestion (the agent places a proposal in your inbox and you start it), semi-automatic (the agent runs and the result waits for your approval) or automatic (the agent runs and delivers straight away — for routines you trust). Client messages are exempt: they never go out without your approval, regardless of the level you have set.
Confidence beats autonomy
Even in automatic mode the rule holds: if an agent detects low confidence — a contentious side issue, an uncertain finding — that forces a review by you. The safety net applies regardless of how much leeway you have otherwise given the agent.
Everything the agents now do
Since the launch in June, the family of background agents has grown noticeably:
- Event triggers instead of a manual start: as soon as a document lands in the case file, inbox triage and fact-graph updating start automatically — day and night, on by default, switchable off at any time.
- Self-directed research with visible evidence: when an agent identifies an open legal question, it researches on its own — every source passes through the citation gate before it counts as verified, with the confidence shown right in the result.
- Completeness check with a closed loop: the agent identifies missing documents by case type and jurisdiction and prepares a ready-to-send query to the client — the client uploads without logging in, and the query resolves itself.
- Reversible and logged: every action lands in the action ledger — with undo and a full audit log.
Staying honest
