The co-pilot that thinks with you: the Agents in the Anwaltsportal are here

Not just another chat window waiting for your question — but an AI that reads your case files on its own initiative, flags deadlines and risks, summarises 5,000-page proceedings and rehearses the oral hearing with you. Five Agents, one co-pilot inbox, full control. Why this changes how a firm works.

In one sentence

The AI you know waits until you ask. The new co-pilot in the Anwaltsportal turns that around: it reads your case files on its own initiative, thinks ahead and drops ready-made suggestions into your inbox — you decide which of them go ahead.

From tool to thinking partner

Every firm knows the pattern: a tool is only as good as the question you put to it. If you don't know that a deadline is ticking away in a file, you won't ask about it.

This is exactly where the Agents come in. They are not one more input field, but a proactive co-pilot: the AI works on your case files in the background, recognises what needs doing and speaks up on its own. "Ask me something" becomes "I've found something for you."

That is the real leap — and the reason we consider this the biggest change in the Anwaltsportal since the AI assistant.

The co-pilot inbox: suggestions before you ask

At its heart sits the co-pilot inbox. This is where the co-pilot gathers what it notices across your case files:

  • a deadline buried in an uploaded document that hasn't been noted anywhere yet,
  • a contradiction between two pleadings,
  • a missing document that would make the file complete,
  • a summary worth running for proceedings that have just grown.

Every suggestion is a one-click start. In the sidebar you see a badge with the number of open suggestions — and you decide at your own pace what to run, what can wait and what to discard.

Five Agents for real legal work

Behind the inbox stand specialised Agents. Each is built for a concrete, recurring task:

1. Case Scan — the thinking partner

Reads a case file from end to end and tells you what stands out: deadlines, risks, gaps, sensible next steps. No more digging through a hundred pages just to find your way in.

2. Case Summary XL — even 5,000 pages

Large proceedings burst any context window. This Agent works on the map-reduce principle: it summarises part by part and condenses the parts into an overall picture — without cutting what matters. Even a mammoth file becomes readable in one go.

3. Complete the case file

Checks whether the file is sound: which documents are missing, which details are open, what should still be obtained before things move on.

4. Hearing Preparation — your Moot Court

Runs the oral hearing through with you: the questions the court is likely to ask, the opposing side's strongest attacks, your best answers. A sparring partner who puts the uncomfortable questions to you beforehand.

5. Citation Guardian

Goes through pleadings and drafts and flags references that need checking — because a made-up or outdated citation is a real problem in a pleading. The Guardian points it out; the check stays with you.

On top of that comes the Advisor (Senior Counsel): an AI second opinion for the tricky strategic question, when you need an experienced sparring partner.

You stay in control

Proactive does not mean high-handed. By default the co-pilot suggests — it only acts once you agree. Where you want it, Agents may also run automatically with your approval, for instance scanning every new case file straight away. Every run is traceable in the log: what the Agent did, on what basis, with what result. Nothing happens in a black box.

Three pillars that mesh together

The Agents do not stand alone. In the Anwaltsportal, three pillars now work together:

  • AI assistant — the chat where you write, research and build drafts.
  • Agents — the co-pilot that thinks along for you.
  • Lex & Lexi — two AI lawyers who examine your case in an argued debate. (more)

And they pass the work along: an Agent can trigger a Lex & Lexi analysis and hand it the right documents; a result from Lex & Lexi can move, at your request, into the AI assistant or straight into a pleading draft — all checked, all logged.

Built securely

  • EU AI: processing runs over European model routes.
  • PII masking: client data is masked automatically before any text goes to a model, and only reinstated for you in the result.
  • Access & audit: each Agent sees only the case files you have access to; every run is logged.

What it costs

No hidden per-run charges. The Agents are part of your firm subscription through quotas: depending on your plan, you have a certain volume and intensity of Agent work available. You can see what you use — and you don't pay extra for every single thought of your co-pilot.

Staying honest

The co-pilot is an assistance system, not an organ of the administration of justice. It thinks with you; it does not decide. Deadlines, strategy and every pleading remain the lawyer's responsibility — the AI prepares, checks and reminds, but the signature and the liability are yours. That is precisely what approval, logging and the Citation Guardian are there for. More on our guardrails: AI transparency.
