After a DRV payroll audit, a demand for back contributions may follow — often because of alleged false self-employment. The objection does NOT automatically suspend payment.

Deadline at a glance
1 month from receipt
§ 84 SGG
The objection must reach the DRV in writing within one month — if the amount is burdensome, a suspension of enforcement should also be applied for in the same letter (§ 86a Abs. 3 SGG), as otherwise the objection does not suspend payment.
It is an AI, not a person: nobody looks at your individual case, and we do not know who signs up or for what reason. That is why we give pointers, but no legal advice on the individual case. Guidelines and playbooks in the platform are only guardrails: the AI relies on the available sources and your information. AI can make mistakes — check important results, and if in doubt, ask a lawyer.
What we pay special attention to
Curated from real cases. The AI review flags exactly these points in your document.
Without an application for suspension of enforcement, immediate enforcement looms despite the objection.
A status determination of "bogus self-employment" (Scheinselbständigkeit) is often underestimated.
Late-payment surcharges can be challenged if you were unaware of the payment obligation through no fault of your own.
What you can do here in 5 minutes
After a payroll audit (Betriebsprüfung) under § 28p SGB IV, the German Pension Insurance (Deutsche Rentenversicherung) can demand back social security contributions — frequently because freelancers are classified as falsely self-employed (Scheinselbständigkeit) (overall assessment under § 7 Abs. 1 SGB IV). Important: the objection (Widerspruch) has NO suspensive effect — the back payment is due immediately despite the objection unless a suspension of enforcement (Aussetzung der Vollziehung) is also applied for.
Upload the contribution notice + audit report — our AI tools check the status determination and late-payment surcharges and prepare the objection + application for suspension of enforcement.
