Quick check: what should you do?

3 short questions — no sign-up required.

Have more than three years passed since the end of the year in which the principal claim arose (possible limitation, §§ 195, 199 BGB)?
Are you unable to identify the original claim?
Has an enforcement order already been mentioned?
Is the claim above €5,000?

Deadline at a glance

Collection deadline usually 7–14 days

§ 286 BGB

The deadline set by the collection agency is a private-law deadline – what matters is the limitation period of the principal claim (usually 3 years).

It is an AI, not a person: nobody looks at your individual case, and we do not know who signs up or for what reason. That is why we give pointers, but no legal advice on the individual case. Guidelines and playbooks in the platform are only guardrails: the AI relies on the available sources and your information. AI can make mistakes — check important results, and if in doubt, ask a lawyer.

What you can do here in 5 minutes

Debt collection agencies (Inkassobüros) often set short deadlines and charge excessive fees. Much of this cannot be enforced. Our AI tools check the principal claim, limitation and the amount of the collection fees separately.

Upload the letter – you receive an objective assessment of each item and a reply letter (disputing the claim, pleading limitation or partial acknowledgment).
